Maasai Beadwork

Massai BeadworkMama Maasai is an informal network of women’s groups with over 160 members, located in Simanjiro District, Tanzania. Untouched by tourism and infrastructure Simanjiro is a particularly arid part of the Maasai Steppe. In this harsh environment, Maasai communities are struggling to survive a period of enormous challenge and change.

VETAID gives new opportunities for Maasai women to develop traditional bead and leather skills to produce marketable produce which provide an alternative form of income.
