Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon, 31 May 2009
26.2 miles of inspiration - A beautiful coastline, an extinct volcano, a Royal Palace, a grandstand finish.
The Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon is the second largest full marathon in the UK. It is also one of the most beautiful, offering runners the ultimate personal challenge with a spectacularly scenic route, taking runners past many of Edinburgh’s famous landmarks and tourist attractions.
If you don't want to run the full 26.2 miles, you can get a team of four people together to take part in the Chevrolet Hairy Haggis Team Relay event. Each member of the team will run around a quarter of the marathon course.
The Chevrolet Hairy Haggis Relay Event
The Chevrolet Hairy Haggis Team Relay gives athletes of all abilities the opportunity to run along the same course as the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon without having to run the 26.2 miles individually. Teams of four will run splitting the marathon distance between them.
The 2009 relay is open to charity runners only so it will be even more memorable for those taking part. Each team member shouldraise a minimum amount of sponsorship for VETAID. One of the main goals of the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon is to provide a platform for runners to raise money for charity. With the fundraising target split four ways it should be easy to reach and you will have plenty of support and fundraising advice!
