Ben Nevis trekkers successfully reach the summit
16 May 2007

On the 12th of May a group of 19 headed off on the quest to climb UK highest mountain in aid of VETAID. Starting at sea level, the group walked the whole 1,343m to the top which covered about 10 miles.

Going up through stunning scenery of lochs and mountains they reached the top as the snow and fog took over. Luckily there was no wind and the group enjoyed a temperature of 10 °C at the summit.

After eight hours walking, they enjoyed a well-earned pint in the local pub before heading to a ceilidh in the evening to celebrate their achievement.

VETAID would like to thank everyone who took part in the 2007 Ben Nevis Challenge. This has raised over £8,000 for our work.

If you would like to take part in next year's Ben Nevis Challenge, please contact Sophie on 0131 445 6241 or email sophie@vetaid.org.
