With national vaccination month coming up, participating veterinary surgeries will once again provide pets with discounted vaccinations. VETAID understands the importance of these vaccines, but also the huge impact vaccinations have on vulnerable African communities. That’s why, on 13th May 2009, VETAID will hold it’s 3rd annual ‘Vaccinating for Africa’ day.
The idea behind the action day is simple. Veterinary practices book in as many boosters as possible on 13th May, agreeing to donate half the total income from those boosters to VETAID. Posters on display in the surgery let clients know the practice is taking part, and we will provide you with information for anyone who wants to know more.
VETAID has been working with people who depend on animals for their survival for 20 years. Our work ranges from providing training in basic animal health care to running large scale vaccination campaigns to prevent disease.
This Europe-wide event which is organised by VETAID along with other members of the Vétérinaires sans Frontières (VSF) network.
If you would like to take part in ‘Vaccinating for Africa’ 2009 please download and complete the
registration agreement then return it to the VETAID office. We will then send you what you need to promote the day.
If you would like any other information, please contact Leonie at leonie@vetaid.org or call 0131 445 6241.
