
VETAID believes that raising awareness and understanding in developed countries is critical to reducing poverty globally. We actively participate in the network of International Development Education Associations Scotland (IDEAS) and adhere to their definition of development education:
“Development education is a process which fosters the knowledge, skills and attitudes which promote justice and equity in a multicultural society and an interdependent world. It raises awareness of global concerns and illustrates the potential for change.”
